Diani is the beach people mean when they say ‘the coast’. Kilometres of fine white sand, a reef that keeps the water calm at low tide, and a strip of hotels to suit most budgets.
We add one day that most guests call the best of the trip: a boat out to Kisite-Mpunguti marine park to look for dolphins, snorkelling over the coral, and a long seafood lunch on Wasini Island. If you still have energy, the colobus conservation centre runs short walks to meet the monkeys and explain the rope bridges strung over the main road.
