Sensory Garden & tea farm tour, Tigoni
Pick tea leaves the traditional way, learn how they become the cup you drink every morning, then wander a garden designed for all five senses. About an hour from Nairobi.
This is a farm visit that children talk about for days. You start in the tea fields, where the farm team shows you how to pluck “two leaves and a bud” the way it has been done in these hills for generations, and explains what happens to the leaf afterwards.
Then comes the sensory garden: herbs to crush between your fingers, plants to smell and taste, textures to touch, and a lot of “what is this one?”. Guests often leave with a bag of spices they mixed themselves, and the farm’s rabbits are a hit with younger visitors.
We pick you up in Nairobi, take you up Limuru Road into the cool tea country around Tigoni, and have you home by mid-afternoon.
